Choosing A Web Hosting Company
What is a Web Hosting Company?
This is a company that provides server space for numerous websites. There are many things to look for when choosing a Web Hosting Company. There are many available, and they range in price form free to very expensive. They are not all the same and they do not all offer the same services, so do your homework before you decide.
Before choosing a web host consider the following:
1.are they available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 2.are they available by phone and email 3.can you cancel your subscription or change it at any time 4.do they provide all the services you need
Your needs will vary depending on how many pages you have on your website and depending on graphics, pictures, video clips and so on. Prepare for the future and expanding not just what you need right now.
Make sure you choose a provider that is reliable. You do not want your website to be unavailable on a regular basis, this will cost you in lost customers. Some providers only allow a certain amount of time your site can be viewed per month. Slow access when uploading a site is also frustrating for your customers.

SEARCH ENGINES
Search Engines are the power that drives the Internet. Search engines are just search tools that list sites based on keywords entered to find information. WHICH SEARCH ENGINE TO USE Here is a list of some of the more common ones:
| Google | www.google.com | | Yahoo | www.yahoo.com | | Alta Vista | www.altavista.com | | Go To | www.goto.com |
| All The Web | www.alltheweb.com |
CHOOSING A SEARCH ENGINE
This is really just a personal choice. They all work a little differently therefore the lists they provide will vary. You can check them out and find which one is best for you, or you can use more than one on a regular basis.
To find out what rules apply to the search engine you decide to use, look for the HELP or a SEARCH TIPS buttons that will be located near the search bar or at the bottom of the page. You can use the words AND, OR, and NOT between your search words .Some search engines are case sensitive - so whether you type in capital or lowercase letters will make a difference. Whether you type in the word as singular or plural can make a difference to your results too. Getting listed high up in the search Engine Rankings is a difficult task. Difficult that is, to be highly ranked with a keyword that is likely to be used by the targeted people you want to visit your site. The problem is that the Search Engines constantly change their rules, so what works today may not necessarily work tomorrow. Search engine placement can certainly make a big difference to your web site and your on-line business. If you want people to come to your site and come back often, you have to keep up to date and fresh. Your title page should correspond with your domain name. This is the first page people will see so I strongly urge you to get your own domain name. It is impossible to build a successful business on a free web host. Put a short 25 word description of your page in meta tags. Make sure your keywords are in your description but it's more important for the description to sound right then to have too many keywords. Make sure all your text looks good. Check your spelling and punctuation. It is very important that your main page links to all your other pages and that all your other pages link to each other and back to the main page. It really doesn't matter how you link them together, just as long as they all link.
